Case Study
Co-location Centre
This project involved the installation of power and telecommunications connectivity within a large co-location (data centre) in Sweden.

| Project scope: | Power: WG&R,s responsibility were to provide the power within the centre including: Sub main, MV / LV systems, Transformers, Rectifiers, Power generation, UPS, Batteries, DC Power, low -impedance electrical ground. Telecommunications: Interconnections, between 19, and 23-inch racks, including fibre multi mode and single mode, and copper links. |

| Challanges: | There were several non-standard aspects to this particular installation not least the weather. The allotted window for electrical cables for the MV and LV systems commenced in February, where temperature's overnight could be as low as -28 degrees Celsius. Due to the number of other professions operating within the premises careful logistics were employed to move cables drums into higher ambient temperature locations ahead of scheduled installation. In addition to the above, compliance to the European code of electrical wiring was the basis of installation, so other technical aspects had to be considered ahead of installation. |
